Can I use FaxWise and AddressWise at the Same Time?

Yes! But with one limitation!

FaxWise opens the common FaxWise/AddressWise Phone Book exclusively. This means that if you are running AddressWise and one of the Phone Books is open, you can't start FaxWise as this program can't open the Phone Book, as it can't get the exclusive access.

However, if you use FaxWise from within AddressWise, the correct access will always be arranged.

How can I use FaxWise to Fax a Document?

Suppose you have created a document using say WordStar, (Yes! It still exists!), and you want to fax the document to one of your clients, a certain William Clinton, who has a fax number of 001-800-***-****.

The easiest way to use FaxWise is to open the document with WordStar and then change the printer from your normal, Hewlett-Packard, Epson or whatever, to the special FaxWise print driver, called FaxWise.

The print command is then called in the normal way.

The control screen for the FaxWise will then appear.

FaxWise Control

Enter the name William Clinton in the top box, To:, with his fax number underneath in Number: and then click Add to List to add the name and number to the list of recipients. You can add as many names and numbers as you want and each will receive a copy of the document.

Make sure you are connected to the Internet and then click Send to send a copy of the selected document to each fax number.

How do I Add a Cover Sheet when using FaxWise?

On the FaxWise control screen, you will see an Add Cover command button.

Click this and you can either enter a simple message or a complicated bitmap to a simple cover sheet, which details your recipient and their fax number.

Note that you should always use a cover sheet, when you are sending the same fax to a number of recipients.

How do I Use Names and Fax Numbers from AddressWise with FaxWise?

On the FaxWise control screen, you will see an Search Phone Book command button.

Click this and you will be presented with the FaxWise control screen for the phone book, which is shared with AddressWise.

Use the two command buttons, Add to List and Remove to build a list of recipients for your document. The name, John Smith, has already been added.
