She was almost elated at his reply. Surely, he couldn't know of a solution. 'You don't! Do you?'
'As you know we're based in Cambridge!' The company name had told her that and she had also seen their location map on the Web Site. 'We work very closely with the University and the local hospital, Addenbrokes! And the good news for your friend, David is that we have just got approval for a peronal monitor for diabetics. It works through the Internet, just like the incubators do!'
'Would it help David?' She did hope it would.
'It might do!' She could see this might be a gentle letdown. 'He'd have to come to Cambridge to see if he was a suitable patient. And we'd have to get our US partners fully on-line.'
'That shouldn't be a problem!' She knew David would enjoy the trip. 'Who are you dealing with over here?'
'The nearest to you would be Dallas.' She didn't feel that would be too much of an inconvenience. 'That's only a couple of hours by plane, if my memory serves me correctly!'
'I'm seeing David on Wednesday to get the latest test results. How shall we get in touch, if we need to progress this?'
'I'll talk to the University. They'll e-mail you directly.' But he didn't know her e-mail address. Or did he?

She now had another, but very selfish idea. 'Can you control anything and anybody like this?'
'Why do you ask?'
She decided to repeat her disclosure of when they had talked before. 'You remember when I said I liked to be completed encased, bound and totally controlled. Could you control me, through the Internet?'
His reply was monosyllabic and exactly what she wanted to hear. 'Yes!'
