Drug Arrests
![]()
This Daisy Chart was produced using the drawing template, drugs.dyt, using the data file, drugs.txt, supplied with all versions of Daisy. It shows the arrests for drug offences at a fictitious airport.
The data has been analysed into four sets of nodes, each of which is shown as an arc of the circular Daisy Chart. These are the Day of the Week, the Hour of the Day, the Area where the drugs came from and the Sex of the person arrested.
Two histograms are shown on each node; the number of arrests, violet and the average size of seizure, red.
The lines of links between the nodes show the relative strengths of the connections between nodes. In this Daisy Chart, they are shown in terms of the number of arrests.
Try putting yourself in the position of a Customs Officer. How would you deploy your men, so that you maximised the number of arrests? Or would you go for seizing the larger shipments?
Note there is no way that Daisy Analysis would ever show real data in such a sensitive area. On the other hand, if anybody has some similar data, they would like analysed, we would be happy to plot it!
